STERLING COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the Sterling Community Association in Sterling, Nebraska proposes to hold a public hearing on March 9, 2020 at 6:50 p.m. local lime at the Sterling Community Building to consider the revision of the By-Laws in Article V, Section 2 for the Board of Directors to be eligible to serve a maximum of 6 years via 2 consecutive 3-year terms.  Any interested persons are invited to attend this public hearing and to present pertinent information, data or views or to request additional information or background re­garding said changes. The purpose of the hearing is to afford full and complete public knowledge and discussion of said changes prior to adoption of the changes.

About the Sterling Community Association
The Sterling Community Association (SCA) promotes the betterment and general welfare of the community of Sterling and its surrounding rural area.
Events sponsored annually by the SCA include:
  • Bowling Tournament 
  • Wine and Ale Festival
  • Alumni Basketball Tournament
  • Community Play
  • Memorial Day Flag Display in Downtown Sterling
  • Sterling Picnic
  • Golf Tournament
  • Christmas Tree Lighting
The SCA also honors one outstanding citizen and local business each year. Awards for honorees are given at the Christmas Tree Lighting Event.

Join the Sterling Community Association

The SCA welcomes all patrons of Sterling and it's rural area to join as members and help support its efforts. 
To join the SCA, fill out the official form located  to the right, email a SCA Board Member for a paper form, or download the form here and mail it to the SCA or give it to one of the Board members listed above.

There is a $15 individual annual membership fee and a $20 annual family membership fee.  that helps support the efforts of the SCA.

Contact the SCA
The SCA meets on the second Monday of each month at the Community Center at 7 PM. All members of the SCA, and patrons of Sterling or the rural area are invited to attend, help with planning or volunteer for activities and events.

If you are interested in becoming a Board Member or Committee Member, please contact the SCA for more information. Elections for offices are held every two years, in even years only.
